I took my 82 year old Mum to Oakes for an eye test recently and cannot fault the staff at all. She felt very valued as a customer and everyone was so kind and patient, and she didn’t feel rushed in making her glasses choice, which were then ready one week later for collection.

Best opticians I’ve been to. Expert service, friendly and professional staff and no hard sell on frames or lenses as there is on the High Street. I’d always rather deal with an independent business and Oakes Opticians is top class. They don’t have endless walls of frames either, which I prefer. Just a good and varied selection on style and price. Highly recommended.

Friendly, professional and helpful staff. The optician clearly explains the various pieces of equipment he uses. When he found an issue at the back of one of my eyes and had to refer me to my doctors and the hospital he clearly explained why and what would happen next. This time they suggested just having my lenses changed rather than buy new frames. When the lenses arrived it only took a few minutes to put into my existing fames.
